An adorable bird with a medium-sized body and a crest, commonly found in the wet tropical lowlands.
The woodpecker known as Celeus castaneus measures approximately 28 cm in length and weighs around 127g. Its coat is mostly chestnut-brown in color without any visible bars, with a yellow tail, crest, and sides. The beak of this bird is a mixture of yellow and white, complemented by black wings and tail. The male species has a crimson-colored cheek stripe.
